Orange Craze

Well, it's not just sunny anymore, it's extremely hot outside [and inside]! So I haven't been up to much except trying to stay cool and do as less as is possible. That means I haven't been very crafty in the last weeks, my room is in the attic. I only stay there during the night when it is cool and at 9 am I move downstairs because the sun heats up my bedroom in no time. I did get to see the World Cup and my national team are in the finals!! So I'm very excited about tomorrow and have no doubt that the Netherlands will turn orange for the day. Just to get into the 'orange' mood I thought I'd show you some of my orange items that are for sale in my shop .

And if we win tomorrow I will do a feature of orange items from other Etsy shops!

I made my examens a few weeks ago and I passed them! I'm so happy!
I'm going to University in September, I'll be studying English in Amsterdam.

My Workspace

This is my workspace, my place to create. Although I do also use the diner table sometimes. Ignore the computerscreen, it's been unimployed for the last months because I killed my computer. I still have to remove it.

As you can see there are not only tools [and supplies but they are not visible on the photo] for jewelry making but also for my other hobby: Model Horses. The green storage 'thing' on the right contains my leather lace and the brushes on the left are for painting. But most of my tools are used for both hobbys.

I'm still here!

Busy, busy, busy I've been in the last weeks. I had my exams, so lots of studying and little time for other things. But I'm done now and have lots of free time! So time to get back on track.

Remember the Craft show I was going to enter, well it was cancelled. But I had already started to make lots of new items. So these will go directly into my Etsy shop [www.daphire.etsy.com ]. Some photo's of the items that will be listed in the next weeks:

Nikita and I: 3 Years!

Today it's been 3 years ago that I bought my haflinger: Nikita. I was always told to buy a horse when I was older and living on my own. But I couldn't wait that long, so I saved al my money for years untill I had enough. so on 12-5-2007 she was finally mine and mine alone. In these 3 years we have had hard times but also a lot of fun. She has really changed in these 3 years, positive change. And I really hope that there are many more great years to come!

Sorry!

I'm sorry for not blogging for over a week, I've been sick. I also had an unhappy event to go to this week; a funeral. It was a very very emotional one, my father's cousin lost the battle with cancer. She was way to young and in the middle of her life. Rest in Peace Silvia.

But I do have 2 happy thing to announce: 1. I have entered my first Craft Show! I'm very excited about it and am also working hard to make enough new pieces to sell. That's why I haven't been listing new items on my etsy shop; everything new I make will come with me to the craft show. The second thing is that I passed my driving-test! It was the second time I took it. In the Netherlands we have to pass a test with questions, if you pass you are allowed to take the driving test. So I'll be going to the city hall tomorrow to claim my drivers license.
